As part of the Pebble Beach Food & Wine event, chefs provided guests with an opportunity to get up close and personal during cooking demonstrations.
Celebrity chef Jonathan Waxman was tempting the crowd’s taste buds at his “Italian My Way” demo Friday morning.
“I did a warm calamari salad. We’re in Monterey, hello!” said Waxman, known from Bravo’s show “Top Chef: Masters,” about his first dish.
The emphasis of the demo was placed on meat.
“You don’t have to cut it with the grain. You can cut it with the grain or against the grain,” Waxman told the audience as he gave them tips on carving.
The entree he cooked up in front of the packed room was a New York Strip steak, done his way, of course.
